 Where does the revenue go that is generated by the Massachusetts Lottery?
Of the revenue generated by the Massachusetts Lottery a minimum of 45% of the revenues stays in the State Lottery Fund to be paid out as prize money. The Commonwealth's General Fund receives a portion of the revenues to pay the expenses incurred in administering and operating the Lottery. After prizes and expenses are paid, the remaining Lottery revenues are transferred to the Local Aid Fund and returned to the cities and towns of the Commonwealth in the form of local aid.

 Can non-Massachusetts residents play the lottery?
Yes, as long as the person is over the age of 18 they can purchase and play any Lottery product at any retailer location.
 
 Where do I collect my winnings?
Prizes amounting to $600 and below my be collected at any Lottery Sales Agent. Prizes over $600 and under $50,000 can be claimed at any Lottery regional office in Boston, Braintree, New Bedford, Woburn, Worcester or West Springfield. Prizes that are greater than $50,000 must be claimed at the Lottery Headquarters in Braintree. When claiming prizes over $600 the Lottery requires proof of positive identification, a photo ID that contains your signature, proof of your social security number and proof of your current address.
